Class Description:
This class is focused on Footwork & Styling (also known as Shines) for Both Leads & Followers with a strong emphasis of Casino (Cuban Salsa), Son, Chachacha, Afro-Cuban Folklore, & other styles of Salsa as well while adding them all into a fun choreography to expand your Salsa Knowledge & Terminology.(The class level will be beginner-intermediate/improvers but open to everyone who is up for a fun challenge!)ALL LEVELS WELCOME TO JOIN!
NO PARTNER REQUIRED & DROP-INS WELCOME!Time: 10am-11am

This Saturday on March 21st, we will be teaching at the Alumni & Friends Event called "AMIGOS" for you to bring your friends, loved ones, & family.THIS EVENT IS FREE TO THE PUBLIC & ALL AGES WELCOMECome support the "East Bay Chapter Fundraiser" with food, dinks, dancing, and more!
We will be teaching Salsa, Bachata, & Merengue. The first half of the dance lesson will be from 4pm-4:30pm, then a small break for food and drinks from 4:30pm-5pm, & then from 5pm-5:30pm will be the second half of the lesson.See you there & looking forward to dance with you! 🕺🏽

We Will Be Teaching At The Salsa Rueda Festival In February Located At The Grand Hyatt.

Truly an Amazing Choreographer, Instructor, and Dancer!
He choreographed my daughter’s Quinceañera, our Father-Daughter dance, and Mother-Daughter dance with ease!
The whole dance was the talk of the night and he really helped my daughter achieve her goals for her quince.
She wanted a show and he created a production.
All the kids looked like pro dancers and we were extremely proud of them.
My wife and I also felt at ease with him teaching us the basics of Latin dance and our choreography.
I’m not a dancer at all and now I feel comfortable doing my basics.

We gave MrSalsa what seemed like an impossible task - 8 weeks to choreograph 5 different songs in a 5 minute mash up AND he did the music for us. We were so nervous and he really made us feel comfortable and we had so much fun. We pulled it off and it was the highlight of our wedding. He is super quick on his feet if something doesn't work or if we were struggling. He is super knowledgeable and knows what he is talking about whether it is dancing or music. He really listened to what we wanted and it ended up being 10 times better than we originally imagined. Our dance practices were the best part of wedding planning and it was worth every penny. WOW. What a special human and teacher MrSalsa is. We were so incredibly lucky to find MrSalsa a short week before our wedding for dance lessons + choreography. What originally started as sessions for just my dad and I, quickly turned into dance lessons/choreography for my husband/mom (mother/son dance), and my husband and I because of how amazing and fun MrSalsa is patient, kind, and talented. He took on the challenge to choreograph a 3-song dance for my Dad and I, a routine for my husband/mom, and my husband and I...a short week before my wedding. Let me start off by saying I have never danced before in my life. A wallflower who could not carry upbeat in a grocery bag. Right from the start he made me feel very comfortable explain things in a way that he made sure I could understand and has made every lesson very fun. I’ve been taking lessons with him for over one year and have no intention of stopping. This is in large part to his style personality professionalism and making every lesson fun and interesting. Whether you are a complete beginner for someone who wants to on their skills there is no better instructor anywhere! I reluctantly write this review because if everyone finds out how awesome he really is, I’m concerned he won’t be as available to meet as he has been. My only other reluctance in writing this review is that I am only allowed to give him five stars, he deserves so many more!

MrSalsa is amazing!!! As the groom, I decided last minute to do a surprise groomsmen dance for my wife. I contacted MrSalsa and he was down to help and very flexible. Our group of 6 learned choreography to Bruno mars’ ‘Skate’ and bachata in 4 sessions. I was excited to learn and MrSalsa was very patient as many of us didn’t have a lot of dance experience. With time and so much practice, we got our routine down! I didn’t think I could learn it all in a week but I was proud that we did! MrSalsa is very positive and really believes any one can learn to dance. While he’s patent he will also push you to work to get the dance down until you feel confident about it. He knows what he’s doing! At the same time, I also hired MrSalsa to teach my fiancé and I steps to our first dance, without spoiling to her that I was also learning a groomsmen dance. In an hour session, he taught us an entire sequence of waltz steps. It was great and my wife loved it so much! All in all, we wouldn’t have been able to pull of what we did without the help of MrSalsa. My wife was so happy to do our first dance and was incredibly surprised by our surprise groomsmen group dance too! I would recommend MrSalsa and we plan to continue sessions with him in the future.

What Should I Wear For Class?
Comfy clothes to dance/easy to move in.Do I Need Buy/Wear Dance Shoes?
Not at all, so long as you have shoes that are comfortable, you're able to spin in them, & move comfortably thats more important.
I would strongly advised to avoid dancing in boots, sneakers with a lot of grip/traction, or flip-flops/slides to avoid injuries.Do I Need A Partner?
No partner required for any of the classes!Do I Need To Register Before Hand Or Do I Drop-In?
No registration needed & Drop-Ins are welcome.I'm Brand New To Salsa, Is This Class For Me?
No worries, we always review the basics in our warm-up. Born in San Francisco and raised in the East Bay Area, our dedicated dance instructor has been a passionate dancer for as long as he can remember. Being inspired to learn latin dances such as salsa, merengue, cumbia just to name a few from his families singing & dance parties and watching the legendary Michael Jackson performing his pop n lock, tutting, and gliding, led him to explore the vibrant world of dance in high school.Instantly captivated, he committed to expanding his knowledge by attending classes each summer & started his Salsa journey taking lessons On 1 (LA Style) & On 2 (NY Style/Mambo). One day, he stumbled on YouTube the world of Cuban Salsa known as Casino while searching for salsa music in his late teens. The turning point of his Salsa journey was the captivating music video "Me Mantengo" by Los Van Van. From the very first note, he was entranced. The music video showcased everything he didn't know he was missing: the infectious Timba (Cuban Salsa Genre) rhythms, the exhilarating suelta steps (Solo Dancing/Shines), and the rich, colorful Afro-Cuban folklore movements. But what truly blew his mind was the Rueda De Casino (which involve couples dynamically switching partners through engaging and playful patterns). It opened his eyes to an entirely new dimension of Salsa that he had never heard or seen before. At that moment he felt a spark of realization, this was his true calling.
From there on, he has pursued and continues to pursue training in Casino, Suelta, Rueda De Casino, & Afro-Cuban Folklore.With more than a decade of teaching, choreographing, and performing, he blends various dance styles to create a unique fusion that elevates his choreography and classes, & his distinctive approach infuses every lesson with creativity and flair.
We encourage new learners to embrace the vibrant atmosphere he creates, don’t be shy! His infectious energy ensures that everyone leaves the dance floor inspired and revitalized.
